To ease the process of moving onto a new PC, please follow
the instructions below pertaining to any moves; so long as these instructions
are followed then the disruption to you should be minimal.
Bookmarks
On Google Chrome (if you’re using Internet Explorer/Edge, you’re on your own as everyone should be on Chrome) in the top right hand corner click the three dots.
Mouse over ‘Bookmarks’ and then ‘Bookmark manager’
On the tab that opens up, click the 3 dots in the top right again and click ‘Export bookmarks’
Save it where you want and named what you want; after this, attach the document you just saved to an email and email it to yourself.
The next time you go to open it, right click the document itself and click ‘Open with’ then select Google Chrome
Passwords
On Google Chrome (if you’re using Internet Explorer/Edge, you’re STILL on your own as everyone should be on Chrome) in the top right hand corner click the three dotsClick settings, and then under ‘People’ click ‘Passwords’
This will show all the passwords you have saved on what websites, as well as under what username(s). To view the passwords, click the eye icon and it will ask you to type in your windows password to view it (this is the password you log onto your PC with); this will only need doing the once and then you will be able to view all your passwords by clicking the eye icons.
At this point we would recommend you use the snipping tool to take a snip of the screen showing what your passwords are; save this down and email it to yourself, so if you do move PC you are still able to find what your passwords are by having a copy of that in your emails.
You can locate the snipping tool by opening up your start menu and typing ‘Snipping Tool’; failing that, it can be located under ‘Windows Accessories’ in the start menu (see below):
De-authorise BT Cloud
Go to https://portal.btcloudphone.bt.com/ and log in – if missing details, number is 01204867528, then enter your extension and password. If unsure about extension, this can be located through the phone directory – failing that, click to sign in with email, in which case enter your email address and password.
If unsure about password, let us know and we can reset or you can click ‘Forgotten your password?’ to reset it yourself.
When logged in, make sure you are set to ‘My Extension’ in the top right hand corner and not ‘Admin Portal’. After, click ‘Settings’.
Next, click ‘Phones & numbers’ and then ‘Phones’. Where you have ‘BT Cloud Phone for Desktop’, click ‘Edit’ next to this
After that page is showing, click ‘De-authorise this computer’ – you’ll now be able to log onto BT cloud on another PC.
